Friday Dish: Cheney and Financial Reform

More suited to Little Isis, no?

by littleisis: I’m moving to Orlando, Florida in late July or early August but that’s not what’s been keeping me from posting, all though it has kept me busy. I live out in the country right now and it gives me a lot of internet problems (sunny metropolis should be a nice change) but posting on this blog needs to be more frequent, because we don’t get enough traffic.

Dakinikat has an analysis of Financial Reform that you should read over at the Confluence.

There’s a difference to me between doing something and doing something well. I just don’t think they have that same value in the White House. It’s just been one declare victory and go celebrate moment after another. They just haven’t hung the banner on battleship during the photo-op and that’s about it as far as I’m concerned. Is this what were aiming far? Not as bad as it could’ve been?

Obama puts band-aids on heart surgery-sized problems, what else is new? Wish I could say I expected better, but yeah, I didn’t.

And speaking of heart surgery, Dick Cheney is being hospitalized.

Cheney was expected to remain at George Washington University Hospital over the weekend, said spokesman Peter Long.

It was not immediately clear whether Cheney’s health concern was related to his previous heart troubles. He sustained his last heart attack, deemed a mild one, in February.

Cheney was not feeling well on Friday and went to see his doctors at George Washington University. On their advice, he was admitted to the hospital for further testing.

We at LR wish him the best.

The news is lousy, water is wet, I’m fabulous, ect. These things are obvious, so let’s point out the positive.

OHM nom nom nom! I think if she were any more of a hero the world would go up in flames.

Just as I was very proud to say the obvious more than 15 years ago in Beijing that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights, well, let me say today that human rights are gay rights and gay rights are human rights, once and for all.

  2. Littleisis, good luck with your move, however I saw a reply to your comment on TC that it may not be the best move these days, what with the gulf oil crisis and the impact on the health, welfare and financial stability of the region. I do hope you are making the right decision, and wish you all the best. Take care, and yes, you are fabulous. And you have Tamerlane posting for you – well done! I don’t comment on very many sites, but Tamerlane is very familiar from John Smart’s blog, and her/his own.

  3. Thanks HT! I feel like I have to go though. If Florida is being hit hard maybe I can do some good there 🙂

  4. I tried to convince littleisis to move in with me in my secluded mountain shack, and help me organize my composition books & lend a hand loading these heavy barrels of fertilizer into the rental van. But, no, she’s going off to sip piña coladas on the beach while reading trashy novels! So much for the Revolution.

  5. Um, I don’t do secluded mountain shacks unless I can bring along my sex slaves.

  6. You two – bad children – into the corner for time out!
Thanks for the belly laugh. It was much appreciated!
