    • Wednesday Reads: Hangover April 14, 2021
Hello… as I write this on Tuesday night it is my birthday, and I’m a little tipsy on Southern Comfort. So allow me some leeway on my 51st to share my favorite song when I was a baby. And make this an open thread, because as of right now everything is a bit blurry…and who […]

Good Morning!! I’ve been stuck inside for the past few weeks with chronic pain difficulties. Yesterday, I got out for the first time in quite awhile, and I was happy to see that Spring has finally arrived in the Boston area. Forsythia is blooming along with cherry blossoms, and light green leaves are beginning to […]

Good Day Sky Dancers! I hope you have the same kind of sunny spring weather there that we have here in New Orleans!  I actually made a trip to Walmart yesterday!  I can’t even remember the last time I’ve been there and it use to be at least a 2  or 3 trip a month […]

The days seem to fly by…can you believe we are a quarter way through 2021 already? Here it is, April 11th. Good Morning!! Before I get to today’s news, here’s a little comic relief. This was in yesterday’s Boston Globe, but I can’t get past their rigid paywall. But I found the story at The Pest Control Daily: Boston Public Backyard used to have child alligators — sure, alligators — and other people fed them rodents. […]

Good Afternoon Sky Dancers! I’m off to a late start today.  Doctor Daughter called and we talked forever!  She delivered over 50 babies in March so there’s evidently a Pandemic Baby Boomlet happening!  It’s kinda like the pattern that happens 9 months after blizzards or having to stay at home all summer because everything is […]

Good Morning!! I’m going to focus on Covid-19 news today, because–despite the fact that 110 million Americans have been vaccinated–it looks like we are headed into a dangerous surge of new cases. Here’s the latest: CNN: Fauci says new Covid-19 cases are at a disturbing level as the US is primed for a surge. The […]

Good Morning!! I’m feeling a little bit safer today because I got my second dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday morning. I didn’t even have any arm soreness after the shot, but by bedtime my whole upper arm was aching. This morning all my joints ache. It’s difficult to know if these are reactions to […]

Good Day Sky Danceers! So, my Senator Foghorn Leghorn is on TV embarrassing my state again.  I can’t even start with a decent opening paragraph I’m so livid right now. Oliver Willis writes “GOP senator compares Kamala Harris to notorious drug kingpin”.  Of course this comes via Fox & Friends a notorious propaganda show rooted […]

Friday Dish: Cheney and Financial Reform

More suited to Little Isis, no?

by littleisis: I’m moving to Orlando, Florida in late July or early August but that’s not what’s been keeping me from posting, all though it has kept me busy. I live out in the country right now and it gives me a lot of internet problems (sunny metropolis should be a nice change) but posting on this blog needs to be more frequent, because we don’t get enough traffic.

Dakinikat has an analysis of Financial Reform that you should read over at the Confluence.

There’s a difference to me between doing something and doing something well. I just don’t think they have that same value in the White House. It’s just been one declare victory and go celebrate moment after another. They just haven’t hung the banner on battleship during the photo-op and that’s about it as far as I’m concerned. Is this what were aiming far? Not as bad as it could’ve been?

Obama puts band-aids on heart surgery-sized problems, what else is new? Wish I could say I expected better, but yeah, I didn’t.

And speaking of heart surgery, Dick Cheney is being hospitalized.

Cheney was expected to remain at George Washington University Hospital over the weekend, said spokesman Peter Long.

It was not immediately clear whether Cheney’s health concern was related to his previous heart troubles. He sustained his last heart attack, deemed a mild one, in February.

Cheney was not feeling well on Friday and went to see his doctors at George Washington University. On their advice, he was admitted to the hospital for further testing.

We at LR wish him the best.

The news is lousy, water is wet, I’m fabulous, ect. These things are obvious, so let’s point out the positive.

OHM nom nom nom! I think if she were any more of a hero the world would go up in flames.

Just as I was very proud to say the obvious more than 15 years ago in Beijing that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights, well, let me say today that human rights are gay rights and gay rights are human rights, once and for all.
